You do not need to provide a bike, we include our bike in the cost of the course, we also have helmets and gloves available for you to use.

You will need to provide some form of photo ID.  You can bring a passport, KiwiAccess card etc. 

If you have no photo ID contact us and we can advise on acceptable alternative forms of ID.

You must wear sturdy shoes (boots, gumboots or sneakers are fine).

Your arms and legs must be covered.

Yes. However we recommend full face helmets are worn.  If you ride with an open face helmet it must be an Approved Safety Helmet.  The only way to be sure of this is to have the approval sticker or label clearly visible.  They are usually on the back of the helmet or stitched on a label on the chin strap.

We use Cardo Packtalk units which we supply for you.  Please remove all other types of communication equipment from your helmet.  If you have ear buds or speakers with a standard 3.5mm jackplug please feel free to bring these along. We will have earbuds available for you.

Once you have your Basic Handling Skills certificate you can go to a licensing agent (e.g. AA or VTNZ) to sit your motorcycle theory test.

You will have to:

• Take approved identification
• Fill out a driving licence application form (DL1)
• Take an eyesight test
• Have your photograph taken
