Restricted Licence 6R
Your restricted licence assessment has a 90-minute duration, 60 minutes of road riding covering both town and highway situations.
You will be supplied with a two-way comms system fitted to your helmet and followed by the instructor for this assessment.
Only guidance on directions can be provided by the instructor.

You should wear suitable protective clothing for riding at highway speeds and wet weather gear if necessary.
As well as the courses shown below, training can be tailored to your current level of experience and skill.
If you do not have a Learner Approved Motorcycle (LAMS), we have bikes available for hire.
We can also provide helmet and gloves - free of charge for use during your appointment

Duration 1.5 hours
If you are confident that you can pass a detailed assessment of your safe riding skills in both town and higher speed conditions, you can take the CBTA Restricted Licence Assessment.

Urban Riding Training $195
Training for 90 minutes on town and urban roads.
You will be shown safe riding techniques including positioning, observations, anticipation, scanning, hazard awareness and slow control.
Highway/Rural Riding Training $240
Training for 2 hours on highways and rural roads.
You will be shown safe riding techniques including positioning, observations, anticipation, scanning and hazard awareness.
Combined Course $525
Training for a half day.
This combines the Urban and Highway courses.
At the conclusion of training there will be a short break and then you will complete the CBTA Restricted Licence Assessment.
